The Story Behind Rachel's House of Cheer

Rachel’s House of Cheer began with one simple goal: to share the joy and confidence that cheerleading gave Rachel herself. She first discovered cheer at age 10, falling in love with the perfect mix of athleticism, teamwork, and sparkle, and went on to captain her high school team and earn a coveted spot on the East Carolina University squad.

After college, life moved forward, but Rachel never stopped missing the magic of the mat. Nearly twenty years later, her son Ryder’s curiosity about tumbling reignited that spark. Under her coaching, Ryder advanced quickly, earning a spot on a level-one team. Parents soon began asking if Rachel would help their children learn the basics of tumbling and cheer.

What started as a few front-yard lessons grew steadily. More mats were added, and soon Rachel was teaching dancers, gymnasts, and new cheerleaders of all ages. She realized she’d found her true calling, left her full-time personal-training job, and officially launched Rachel’s House of Cheer, LLC. When Virginia weather made outdoor lessons tricky, she pitched a “cheer tent” in the yard. Through heat, cold, and rain, athletes kept coming and the waitlist grew by the day.

After a year of tent sessions, Rachel took a leap of faith and opened a bright, Barbie-pink studio—a space where confidence grows as fast as skills. Today, the program continues to thrive purely through word of mouth. It’s more than jumps and tumbling passes; it’s a place where athletes gain strength, sparkle with self-belief, and become RHOC Stars—one lesson at a time.
